Ranger Dylan stopped over tonight. He has been called out on a strike team, so will be gone our last few days here. We shared warm Banana Bread with him and discussed our cook out on Monday night before he leaves.
He brought us " Certificates for Volunteer Host of the Year" and a very positive letter of recommendation.
We have really enjoyed our 3 month here.Time flew by so fast, it is hard to imagine we leave in 2 weeks.
Gill and I took our applications down to the Ranger Bobby Toothacker and Amy the volunteer coordinator said we had the position at Woods Ferry for January through the end of April. Wahoo.....
We are now going to be able to get into a rotation of the river camps.
The park was slow today, I only spoke to 3 visitors. We had to make a quick trip in to Lake City to get a breaker for the RV. It was tripping every time the a/c kicked on. New breaker in and all is well.
So, tomorrow I get to defrost the fridge. And slowly start packing the breakables on the shelves.
I would be upset if my Ceramic Roosters broke. :(
We saw several deer, one almost was a hood ornament. She decided to scurry into the pines at the last second.( Wonder if she worked for Geico Ins.(TV commercial) The only other critter I saw today was:
Tomorrow, I am sure will be more action packed. We get to load the gator up (doesn't run) on a trailer and take it to the shop for repairs. Post a few signs on the Iron Rangers for Father Day discount.
