Falmouth Springs: Not much here but if the water table was up I am sure this would have been quite nice.
I was disappointed in the amount of trash thrown on the trail and at the water's edge. ( no gloves or bag or we would have cleaned it up). Bring it/take it should be all's motto.
Madison Blue Springs:
We arrived and there was a professional dive team setting up to explore the underwater cave next week. They was kind enough to answer my questions and explain the need to log the depth, length, and height of the cave as they entered. They had a super cool underwater camera to assist with the research. They lowered a de-compression chamber for the quest next week. Good luck Fella's and hope your research is a success.
The Chamber.
This is where the cave begins 20ft below surface and runs approx. 1 mile north/south below Route 6.
On down the road to find a few more Springs and find a nice park for our picnic.Getting hungry and thirsty. Buddy is getting tired of the in/out of his cool truck. He is so darn spoilt. Wants his truck bed, the a/c and lots of water with ice in it. Which he get's. LOL I admit I spoil him rotten.
Random shots down the Suwannee River.
Private cabin on the river.Suwannee River with the Withlachoochie and Alapaha River's flowing together.
All Domestic Animals are Prohibited in the Springs. Guess this lady can't read/hear or just doesn't care about the environment and her pup. Alligators love Dog's for a snack/meal.
The Ranger tells you upon entry NO Animals near the Springs a "Florida Law."
This is the flow of the Springs out into the Suwannee River.
I forgot why I wanted this Bridge shot . LOL, eh nice bridge and goes over the Suwannee River.
All the springs had a slim film on them. 2 reasons I wouldn't be in the water. Slim and alligators.
Each spring in this park had divers in them, didn't matter to them about the slim and gators.
Green slim coated turtle on the rock.
I know I am short. But,honestly not that short.
Orange Sink Spring
Limestone walls surrounding the Orange Sink Spring. The limestone looks like cellulose in a sponge.
Time to pack it up and head back to camp. Skies are getting dark, maybe we will get some of that much needed rain. Stopped at Winn Dixie while in Live Oak to get supplies for our cookout tomorrow night.
We have invited Ranger Gary and his family and Ranger Dylan down for a going away meal.
Grilled chicken and Pork chops, homemade tater salad, fresh tomatoes and cukes, Butter steamed crook neck squash and baked beans, potato dinner rolls and Peanut Butter Delight Chocolate Cake for dessert.
Gallons of the famous Florida Sweet Tea .Many great photos and fond memories will be made.
Rained in city limits of White Springs, as we got closer to camp the road was dry and all we got was loud boomers .Maybe later tonight we will get some rain. Here is to hoping we get it tonight and not tomorrow during our cookout.
