Mid August Update

It has been busy here this past week.  Seems  as if every day it rained hard  right at the time we would have been spotting the deer.
I was able to take the Kabota out for a run with Buddy during the day once. As soon as we got home the rains started. Gil has been busy mowing the fields and road edges. looks like when he thinks he is done it is time to start again.
We saw a few water moccasins  on our way to close the gate at night. The rain has really brought more snakes out in the open. Every where you look now water is just standing, a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Which are huge and black here, they can drain a vein in nothing flat.Looks like vampire mosquitoes.

Emaleigh went back home, miss the little  bugger.  Happy that her mom Brittany is out of the hospital and doing well. Was greatful we was able to reach out an help them with the baby during this time.

The rest of the week went well,  we managed to get the rest of the bunk house cleaned  and ready for our upcoming visitors.  Park manager  was amazed at how clean and organized  the house  was. Said it has never looked, smelt this clean since  he has been manager. That made me feel good, at least my hard  work  is noticed and appreciated.

This past Thursday ( August 18) I got a call from my son. He let me know that my ex had passed away the day before. Sad that he had all the health issues and just wasn't able to over come them.  I am proud of my son for taking care of him while he was sick.  I  hope that time will heal his loss and his memories  of his Dad will be cherished.
While having lunch , a bird flew into the camper,at least that is what I thought. I heard a thud.  The darn bird got in the LP vent for the Refrigerator  and couldn't get out. Fun, Fun  can not take the vent off the roof, so worked for hours  trying to get this bird out. Took the lower grill off and hoped he would find his way to the light and fly away. I could hear him in the wall behind the refrig. not a happy bird.4 hours later  I heard a chirp, flutter  and things got real quiet again.  So I took a flashlight  and looked as best I could in the lower vent and nothing, no flutter, no chirp.  I pray he left.  I put the vent cover back on.

Over to Palm Bay to get Pizza.  30 minute drive because the local Pizza Hut in Sebastion only sells  by the slice. I had never heard of a Pizza Hut Express  till this one.  Not happy with it, and the local pizza shop is not good.  Enjoyed our pizza, and drive back home. Saw a few doe as we got inside the park.

Hope you enjoy following the blog.  I  enjoy posting   for all to follow along on our journey, hopefully I will have some pictures  soon to post also.
Stay safe, be blessed and come back soon.
